Yelvertoft to Drotwich Aug-Sept
Its looking like the new Mooring will be in Droitwich Spa, in a new Marina opened this year. Has a local Pub and a train station 20mins walk away as well as a good choice of routes including the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, the Droitwich Canals, the River Sever and River Avon within easy cruising distance.
So our route woud take us from Yelvertoft south through Crick and the Watford flight to Braunston. Probably to visit the Admiral Nelson half way down the Braunston flight. The pub is in an ideal location for the canal but has suffered with local competion and has changed hands several times over the last few years and often shut in the winter.
Then via Calcut to Stockton for a night at the Blue Lias pub another ideally located canal side pub.
Continuing west through Leamington to Warwick (Cape of Good Hope) then up the Hatton flight to Lapworth where we turn south on to the Stratford Canal to join the Avon at Stratford.
Down the River Avon through Evesham to Tweksbury to join the River Severn and north to Worcester, keeping an eye on the Enviroment Agency River gauges.
At Worcester either via Diglis on to the Worcester and Birmingham or via the newly opened Droitwich Canals to the Marina at Droitwich Spa.
