2019 Planned Route

Starting as usual at Crick Show over the late May bank holiday, though this year as Chelonian is moored at Crick the years cruising will start after the show.

Crick to Frouds Bridge

Tue 28th May to Sun 23rd June

South on the Grand Union with a detour to Aylesbury. At Brentford join the tidal Thames up to Teddington and then to Weybridge to explore the river Wey. Returning to the Thames and continuing upstream to Reading to join the Kennet and Avon canal to Frouds Bridge near Aldermaston.

Frouds Bridge to Bristol Rtn

9th July to 7th Sept

West from Frouds Bridge through Newbury, Pewsey, Devizes, Bath to join the River Avon into Bristol and a mooring in the floating Habour right in the city centre, then returning.

Frouds Bridge to Lechlade at the Head of the Thames

then to Oxford and north to Crick

15th Sept - 6th October

From Reading rejoin the Thames and head upstream through Pangbourne, Goring, Wallingford, and Oxford then onto the rural upper Thames to Cricklade and the navigable head of the river at the mouth of the Thames and Severn Canal which is under restoration. Then return to Oxford and head north on the Oxford canal back to Braunston.
