After mooring up last night we were advised that we could moor in Arlen boats basin as it was more secure than on the tow path. The owner and residents at the basin made us very welcome and did not charge for the overnight stay. Before leaving this afternoon we pulled out of the basin, turned and backed in to buy a tank of diesel and had to clear the weed hatch before departing. After leaving several lumpy bits of water culminated in breaking the drive belt for the Hybrid just as we tried to pull in at the Service point. Fortunately there is a spare belt on board already threaded around the prop shaft so this was quickly fitted. We arrived at the Ribble link basin without further incident and on checking the weed hatch the prop was clear. Hits: 4914
