Finally the plans are coming together now, and unless there is another bought of heavy rain between now and our Departure the plan is as follows
Friday 1st June - Leeds
late arrival in Leeds departing after work.
Saturday 2nd June - Leeds
A day in Leeds to complete some minor work on the boat, a chance for the crew to explore Leeds.
Evening dinner at Jaipour
Sunday 3rd June - Castleford
10miles 6 locks - approx 4.5 hours
Late departure from Leeds then to Castleford, for dinner on the boat.
Monday 4th June - Barnby Dun
22 miles 5 locks - approx 8 hours
Castleford along the Aire and Calder to Pollington
Tuesday 5th June - Thorne
16 miles 3 locks - approx 6 hours
Short Detour to Doncaster to turn, then back to Bramworth Junction and onto the Stainforth & Keadby Canal to an overnight mooring at Thorne.
Wednesday 6thJune - Keadby
10.5 miles 0 locks - approx 3 hours
The morning in Thorne to get some welding repairs done on the boat, then late afternoon head to Keadby ready for the trip up the Tidal Trent.
Thursday 7th June - Lincoln
38.5 miles 2 Locks - approx 8 hours.
From Keadby we would be travelling upstream, on the Tidal Trent to Torkesy on a single tide, the tide times look as though it will be an early departure from Keadby (7AM) so we would be arriving in Torksey around 11AM. From Torksey it is around 4.5 hours to Lincoln so we should arrive mid afternoon. Overnight in Lincoln.
Friday 8th June - Saxilby
5.5 miles - approx 2 hours
Another day to explore Lincoln before returning to Saxilby for an overnight mooring.
Saturday 9th June - Newark
26.5miles 3 locks - approx 7 hours.
Back to Torksey to rejoin the Trent and catch the flood tide at around 11:30 for the last bit of the tidal river up to Cromwell lock. From Cromwell continuing up the Trent to an overnight stop in Newark on-Trent.
Sunday 10th June - Nottingham
24 miles 7 locks - approx 8 hours
Newark to Nottingham on to Trent and Nottingham Canal morring locally for the Station for a crewe change over. Overnight mooring in Nottingham or possibly Beeston.
Monday 11th June - Loughborough
14 miles 12 locks aapprox 7.5 hours
From Nottonigham to the 4 way junction of the Trent, Trent and Mersey, Erewash Canal and River Soar. Continuing up the Rver Soar towards Loughborough. Rail connections at Nottingham, Beeston, Long Eaton stations in the morning and East Midlands Parkway (Ratcliff-on-Soar) and Loughborough in the afternoon.
Tuesday 12th June - Leicester
17 Miles 12 Locks - approx 8 hours
Bisphops Meadow to Leicester for a mooring either in the town or just before.
Wed 13th June - Kilby
9 Miles 13 Locks - approx 6 hours
From Leicester to Kilby on the southern outskirts of the city. The Locks on this section are restricted to 09:00 to 16:00 and locked outside these times.
Thur 14th June - Foxton
9 miles 11 locks - approx 6 hours
The Locks between Kilby and Kibworth (5 miles 12 locks) are restricted to 09:00 to 16:00 and locked outside these times. Once through Kibworth we have a level section through Saddington Tunnel to the bottom of the Foxton flight.
Mooring at the bottom of the Foxton flight, possible detour to Market Harborough if time permits.
Fri 15th June - Yelvertoft
16 miles - 10 Locks 7.5 hours
Foxton Flight is open 09:30 to 17:00 with last entry to the flight at 16:15.
Climbing the Foxton flight of two 5 rise staircases onto the summit level then through Husbands Bosworth Tunnel towards Crick.
Saturday 16th June - Crick
2 Miles 1 hour.
Hire Car collection from Rugby Saturday Morning, then to the temporary mooring in Yelvertoft, Crick or Weltonford Marinas. Before returning home Saturday late afternoon.
