Having gone further than we expected yesterday we only had a short hop to Northampton and Becket's park marina to do today. Just as we finished filling the first lock a boat arrived at the bottom, so we waited at the following lock and shared the locks in to Northampton where both boats moored up.

From Irthingborough to Wellingborough where we lost one member of crew. Then continued intending to moor at Cogenhoe but found the bank covered in "Private - No Mooring" signs so pressed on. We did consider the new marina at White Mills but in the end pressed on to Weston Flavel intending to moor on the floating pontoon upstream of the lock. However we found the visitors mooring at the Northampton Boat Club just below the lock and as an IWA member received a very friendly welcome to both the mooring and the club bar and a free overnight mooring.

A short day today from Oundle Marina to Wadenhoe to stop at the Kings Head for dinner.

Kayak came out for the strech from Lilford to Wadenhoe lock but was slow going.  Durring the paddle the owner discovered that there was an additional section in the bottom which needed to be inflated, with this done the Kayak was much more manoverable but a little less stable, resulting in one dog passenger going for a swim.
