we moored overnight at Upwell where we sampled the local fish and chip shop in Outwell. In the morning we set off for Salters Lode for the tidal crossing to Denver.

We arrived at Salters lode well in time for the tide and had lunch while we were waiting. Around 12:30 we moved forward in to the lock and as soon as the tide had dropped enough for us to get under the gate we set off for Denver.

After a stop for a pint at Denver we set off and moored overnight at the Ship inn on Brandon Creek. Good beer, Excellent food and live music.

and so we come to the final days cruising planned for this year, a short 3 mile hop to Fenny Marina and our winter mooring, The weather was wet and drizzley so less than ideal boating weather, though it looks like we missed the worst of it as it got heavier once we were moored up. Now time to empty the boat and put it to bed for the winter before heading home this afternoon.

After breakfast we set out along the Oxford Canal (GU Section) to Napton junction and on to the Oxford Canal (Southern) section. At the bottom of the Napton flight we stopped for a quick lunch before tackling the 9 locks to the summit of this part of the canal, ably assisted by a CRT Volunteer for the first 7. Another couple of miles and we stopped at Ladder bridge for the night about 3 miles from Fenny.
