Bridgewater Runcorn to Trent and Mersey Dutton Wharf 1st October 2015
Bridgewater Preston Brook to Runcorn 1st Oct 2015
Bridgewater Bollin Aquaduct to Preston Brook 30th September 2015
Bridgewater Worsley to Bollin Aquaduct 29th September 2015
Another early start this morning to get to
Sale to meet Tim from 20th Century Fires who was booked to service the Pellet Stove on board. Arrived at Dane Road bridge at just after 10:00, and Tim turned up just before 11:00 an hour or so later the Stove was cleaned and serviced and the flue swept out, and you can see the difference with the stove burning brighter and cleaner than before. Unfortunatly 20th Century had been cleaned out of pellets the day before and were waiting on fresh supplies, during the discussion it worked out that their supplier was in Leek where we are planning to be at the end of next week, so with 20th Centurys blessing I contacted UK Pellet Supplies direct and will arrange for a local delivery at the end of next week.
After doing my 1/2 day "in the office" we set off again through Sale, and TImperly to the countryside west of Manchester, stopping for the night on the Bollin embankment overlooking the Cheshire countryside.
Tommorrow Lymn, Grappenhall, Preston Brook and Runcorn.
L&L Pennington Flash to Bridgewater Worsley 28th Sept 2015
From Pennington Flash another early start to take the dog to the Vet in Leigh after he licked the stiches out of his scar. In Leigh for 9:00 Dog given a clean bill of health (and antibiotics and pain killers) by 9:30 so time for a cooked breakfast before exploring Leigh for some shopping. Found the covered market to get some Pies (well we cannot go to Wigan without getting pies !) and then Aldi for basics and the makings of few evening meals.
Back to the boat and through Leigh bridge on to the Bridgewater Canal and the short trip to Worsley for an early finish, time to do some of the many jobs around the boat and an otherwise lazy afternoon.
Tomorrow another early start and heading to Sale to meet up with the Stove man to have the Pellet stove serviced, and pick up a new stock of pellets for the rest of the trip, then heading out of Manchester for a mooring somwhere between Lymn and Grappenhall.
