From Bilsborrow to Preston, 12 miles no locks mixture of sun and wind and passing through the Nuclear safety zone for the Westinghouse fuel processing facility (if siren sounds stop boat, go indoors and close all windows and doors and wait) to the end of the canal in Preston where the canal comes to a rather abrupt end 1 mile short of its original terminus.

From Cabus through Gastang with a stop for water and empty the bins to Bilsborrow for a few pints and Fish and Chips from the local chippy.

Lancaster Canal - Glasson Branch and main line 16th July 2015

From Glasson basin back up the Glasson branch to the junction with the main line, then South to Ratcliff Bridge to take water continuing to Cabus Nook for an overnight mooring and enchiladas on board. Another beautiful sunny day getting windy late afternoon.

From our temporary home mooring at Galgate Marina to the top of the Glasson branch to take water, then down the 6 locks and 3 miles to an overnight mooring in Glasson basin. After several comments the video is in a more detailed format with a still taken every 2 seconds.

Having been trapped south of Lancaster by the leak at the Lune aquaduct we explored the northern extent of the navigable canal by car, visiting Tewitfield and taking a walk up the un-navigable flight of locks to the point where the M6 cuts the canal off with an un-navigable culvert

On our return we stopped off at the worksite to see how they were getting on with fixing the leak. The work looks largely complete with nly one section left to excavate and refill. Then the plant needs to be removed along with the matting put down to create an access road and they can start refilling.
