Compton (S&W) to Gnosall (Shroppie) 20th May 2015
From Compton on the Staffs and Worcs, past Adderley Junction where the BCN joins at the bottom of the Wolverhampton (21) flight to Autherley. Turn North on to the Shropshire Union for the allmost lock free (2 inc Stop lock at Autherley) stretch to Gnosal. Diner on the boat then a pint in the The Boat Inn.
Wombourne to Compton 19th May 2015
From Wombourne Bridge a short trip to Compton including the spectacular tripple lock flight at Bratch.
A short break just before Wightwick to let the worst of the weather (rain and Hail !) come over before the last stretch in to Compton.
Whittington to Wombourne 18th May 2015
From our mooring below Whittington bridge to Kinver for a stop at the Services to empty bins and fill up with water. The morning was fairly wet but it had cleared up and was a bright sunny day by the time we got to Kinver Services. From Kinver through Stewpony and climb up the locks, including the staircase lock at Botterham to a mooring at Wombourne.
Stourport to Whittington 17th May 2015
From Stourport to below Whittington through Kidderminster. Bow Cam below.
Grimley River Severn to Stourport Mitton Bridge 16th May 2015
From Grimley north on the River Severn through the three manned locks to Storuport. As we were travelling with another narrow boat we used the broad locks rather than the narrow staircase locks, this reduced the lock operation from 8 to 2, but we were told afterwards that CRT prefer us to use the narrow locks as it uses less water.
through the basin and up York Street lock to a mooring above the Black Star at Mitton Bridge for dinner and a few excellent beers.
